Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) Level 3 Business Administration apprentice Amelia Reeves has been offered a permanent role with her employer, NEIDA – one of the UK’s largest suppliers of turned and milled components.
Joining NEIDA in 2023, Amelia has built her skillset whilst gaining valuable hands-on experience in a busy company and has had the opportunity to get involved with a variety of roles including front of house, sales administration and event planning.
Talking about her apprenticeship, Amelia said: “I chose an apprenticeship to gain the fundamental skills and knowledge to work in the business and engineering industry.”
“This apprenticeship also gave me the confidence to develop my communication and decision-making skills. I’ve learned a lot about NEIDA’s policies and processes and how to apply them effectively in my role. It’s been a fantastic journey.”
She went on to highlight the extensive support she has received from her employer: “My mentors have been amazing. They’ve guided me through challenging situations and helped me develop essential skills like professionalism, communication and organisation.”
“I’m really happy with my results, and I’m excited about what the future holds."
Sara Scattergood, NEIDA Sales and Marketing Manager, congratulated Amelia's professionalism, commitment and time management skills, saying: “Amelia’s positive attitude and dedication to her work will definitely put her in a great position to advance her career at NEIDA.”
Amelia has played an instrumental role in organising career events, creating a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and checklist to streamline future initiatives. She has also excelled in client relationship management, successfully growing leads into client accounts and conducting market research to identify new business opportunities.
Beyond her primary duties, Amelia has proudly represented NEIDA as a STEM ambassador at apprenticeship fairs and career events, as well as proactively completing first aid and fire marshal training to contribute to the wider team.
Jane Tunnicliff, Director of Apprenticeships and Training at NSCG, said: "Through dedication and skill, Amelia has earned their place within NEIDA, stepping into a future where growth and opportunity await."
