Course overviewThe aim of the course is to provide a programme of training leading to a nationally recognised professional qualification for individuals who would like to work within the beauty and make-up industry. During the course, you will cover a range of units including facial skincare, photographic make-up, make-up application, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, applying skin tanning, body art and nail art. Hair units covered are dressing hair, consultation, shampooing, plaiting and twisting.
The study programme will also incorporate industry placement to ensure that you have the breadth of skills required to progress to further/higher education, employment or an apprenticeship.
What else do I need to know?You will need to purchase a uniform and kit before you enrol on the course. The cost of these items will be discussed with you prior to enrolment. What financial support is on offer?
College Maintenance Allowance (CMA): Anyone with a household income under £23,000 can receive up to £20 per week financial support to help pay for travel and meals and meet the costs of essential trips, books, stationery and equipment. The payments will be subject to full attendance on your course. A range of other financial support is available, depending on your personal circumstances.
