Course overview
The course is a 23 week programme and involves a study of technical units and related units including working in the hair industry, presenting a professional image, styling hair, shampooing and conditioning, plaiting and twisting and then some colouring and cutting to prepare for level 2.What else do I need to know?
The course runs over two evenings a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please note that courses run subject to minimum viable class sizes. All course and fee information is correct to the best of our knowledge at the time of publication but may be subject to change. You will be required to purchase a hairdressing kit and there may be additional costs for books, materials or other expenses.What are the entry requirements?
If you get a buzz from seeing the joy on peoples’ faces when you have transformed them, like meeting people, working in a team and have creative skills then this is the course for you.

How is it assessed?
You are continually assessed throughout the course by building your portfolio of work, which contains evidence of your competence in each of the practical and related skills. You will also be required to pass written assignments.

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group is pleased to be able to offer financial support to help students meet the costs of attending College.

What can I do next?
Upon successful completion of this course you could progress to level 2 Certificate in Women's Hairdressing.
