Level 3 Extended Diploma in Photography

Course overview

This vocational hands-on course is tailored for those who wish to pursue a career within the Creative Industry, specifically Photography or Digital Media. Focusing on technical and conceptual knowledge, the course enables learners to prepare a high quality and individual portfolio for entry onto higher education programmes or directly into industry / employment.

You will work on a range of projects over a two year, full-time course. The course normally runs over three days within the college week. All students are expected to give significant time to their studies outside college. Real world work experience opportunities will be part of your programme as will independent study.

What else do I need to know?

Learner Enrichment is at the core of the two-year course, with various trips organised each year to visit galleries and exhibitions which have included London, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool. Residential trips abroad to destinations including Berlin or Barcelona are possible.

As part of the programme we run workshops involving industry professionals to enance students experience and knowledge of the professional industry. During the programme you will complete complete over 24 hrs of off site work experience, take part in local events such as the Staffs Fest Music Festival and the Stone Food and Drink Festival. You will also work with local clients, which have included 'Ewe Move' Estate Agents, The Gatehouse Theatre and Mr Simms Sweet Shop.
