Course overview

The course is ideal if you are an experienced welder and you now wish to develop your skills further so that you can undertake complex welding work and quality control.

You will be able to learn about welding disciplines in MMA, MIG or TIG.

What else do I need to know?

This course has an additional materials fee of £200.

What are the entry requirements?

To sign up to this course you will need to have achieved a City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Welding Skills qualification (City & Guilds 3268)

How is it assessed?

To gain one of these qualifications, you must successfully complete five practical assignments and an on-line knowledge test. All assessments will undergo destructive tests.

What financial support is on offer?

If you are 19-23, it is your first Level 3, and are studying an SFA approved Level 3 programme you may be eligible for full fee remission.
You can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan or Higher Education Loan to help with the costs of your course if you are 19 or older and the course you are studying is an eligible Level 3, 4, 5 or 6 course.
*This is at the Colleges discretion.

What can I do next?

After completing this course you can seek employment or progression in the industry. You could also move on to a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Fabrication and Welding Engineering.
