Course overview
The digital sector is an industry of exciting, dynamic and fast paced change. This pathway aims to support your understanding and practical competency on a wide-variety of in demand digital skills. You will gain a core knowledge of subjects such as understanding the emerging technical trends, such as Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality. In addition you will develop a range of technical and practical skills such as how to design, implement and test software.Students selecting this pathway aspire to gain a career in web development, web design, IT business analyst, digital marketer or software developer. The Digital T Level pathway provides a mixture of:
• Technical knowledge and skills specific to the digital industry
• A mandatory industry placement of 315 hours in the digital sector
• Continued development of relevant maths, English and digital skills.
Applying and accepting the offer on this course will require a commitment to undertake an industry placement. NSCG work closely with a range of companies within the digital industry who are committed to providing an industry placement. Students will be offered a placement following a successful interview with an employer.
What else do I need to know?
T-levels are brand-new, 2 year qualifications that you can study as an alternative to a traditional vocational programme. With a mandatory industrial placement (of which a mimimum of 315 hours need to be completed), the T-Level brings classroom learning and working in industry together.What are the entry requirements?
You'll need a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including maths and English Language, in subjects that are relevant to the course you’d like to study. You'll also need GCSE grade 5 or above in Computer Science and/or IT.
How is it assessed?
You will be assessed by 2 externally set written exams, an employer set task and an externally assessed project that covers the occupational specialism (work that you have undertaken in the digital industry). This will be achieved by completing a range of different assignments, including coursework and frequent live briefs set by employers.
What financial support is on offer?

College Maintenance Allowance (CMA): Anyone with a household income under £23,000 can receive up to £20 per week financial support to help pay for travel and meals and meet the costs of essential trips, books, stationery and equipment. The payments will be subject to full attendance on your course. A range of other financial support is available, depending on your personal circumstances. What can I do next?
It will be possible from this course progress to a university based programme such as Computer Science, Software Development or Business Information Systems. Some choose to study Games Programming. You can choose to study for a HE qualification here at NSCG through the HND in Applied Computing, or to enter employment, possibly through an Apprenticeship.
