Course overview
This course is ideal if you wish to develop knowledge and practical experience of the principles of accounting.Units include:
- Introduction of Bookkeeping
- Processing Bookkeeping Transactions
- Priniciples of Control Accounts
- Priniciples of Costing
- Business Awareness
You will learn through experiencing a varied programme which includes solving simulated problems, lectures, group work, discussions and attempting past exam papers. You will also be required to study away from weekly lectures to ensure exam success.

Please note there will be additional costs for books, materials or other expenses.What are the entry requirements?
You must have a grade C/5 in GCSE Maths, an appropriate level of Business English and preferably some accounting or finance experience.
How is it assessed?
Each unit is assessed by an externally set, computer based examination where a minimum of 70 per cent of the marks are required to demonstrate competency.

What can I do next?
Most students progress to our AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting or use the qualification for 'on the job' career progression purposes.
