Course overview
This course is ideal if you are considering a wide range of careers in professions such as social work, nursing, midwifery or teaching; it will prepare you for studying on the Access to Higher Education Diploma or any other Level 3 college course by improving your skills first.The Certificate in Skills for Further Study Level 2 (Pre-Access) has been specifically designed to help develop some of the essential skills required for further and higher education courses. There will be focus on developing English, personal and study skills, and an opportunity to take your GCSE English and maths. Successful completion allows the awarding of an OCN Level 2 Certificate in Skills for Further Study in Health.

What else do I need to know?
The course will build in the opportunity to complete GCSE Maths & or English, to enable learners to progress to Level 3 and on to University.N.B If you are a learner aged 19-23 and don't curently hold a full Level 2 qualification you will not be eligible for any remissions of fees.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no entry requirements for this course although you will complete an initial assessment at the start of the course, this will help to identify areas that you may require additional support for.
How is it assessed?
The course is assessed via coursework. The GCSE elements are assessed through controlled assessment and exams.

What can I do next?
Having completed the Level 2 qualification and achieved a grade C or above in GCSE maths and English you will be able to continue your studies by progressing onto the Access to HE Diploma level 3 course at Stafford College.
