BTEC Level 3 Travel & Tourism with Events students recently visited Fly Me, a one of a kind virtual airport and flight simulator experience dedicated to showcasing careers within the aviation industry.

Founded in 2019, by a group of pilots and aviation enthusiasts who shared a unique vision to create a one of a kind virtual airport and flight simulator experience that is like nothing else that the UK has to offer, FlyMe opened its first operational virtual airport in 2020 in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

The immersive airport includes fully themed areas including check in, departure lounge, security, gates and air traffic control. There is also a genuine Boeing 737 aircraft that was previously operated by a major UK airline.

During the action-packed day, students got to grips with pre-flight safety demonstrations, operation of the aircraft doors, how to deal with on-board emergencies and practicing taking off and landing a Boeing 737 simulator plane.

A completely unique, fun and educational experience for our learners, allowing them to get as close to the real thing as possible.
