Students from Newcastle College, part of Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) volunteered at the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent County School Games Festival.
The annual event is held by Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent (SASSOT) and sees over 2000 young people come together across the County to compete in Handball, Rugby Mega Fest, Sport4All, Tri Golf, Trampolining, Cross Country and Rounders.
Nineteen students studying the BTEC Level 3 in Travel & Tourism volunteered at the games, held on Friday 28th June at Keele University. All students were praised for their enthusiasm and initiative throughout the day.
Camilla Denham-White, Programme Manager at SASSOT, said: “The students were all really enthusiastic. They showed care for the children, understood their roles and contributed to the overall effectiveness of the event. It’s a long day and it was a hot day but they never complained.”
Kerry Zdrodowski, Curriculum Leader for Travel, Tourism and Events at NSCG, said: “I’m so proud of the students. Work experience is an important part of the students study programme and the relationship we have with SASSOT is just one of many links we have with local employers.”

Our students love being a part of NSCG and together we’re always sharing their college experiences and achievements for everyone to see, and more importantly, for you to see. Their world. Their freedom. Their joy. Their life. Their excitement. Make it yours. #MyNSCG
