Students from our Level 3 Business course at Newcastle College arranged a charity clean-up of Fenton Cemetery as part of their ‘Managing an Event’ unit.

Rebekah Gorton, Olivia Jones and Teague Smith chose to raise money for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice to show support for everything they do locally to help terminally ill patients.

With the help of friends and family, the team worked tirelessly to collect rubbish and to spruce up the area.

Commenting on their fundraiser event, student Rebekah Gorton said; “We chose this event to show support for the Dougie Mac and all they do, not only helping people but also to support the staff that do so much to help make their patients as comfortable as possible. Our initial target was to raise £200 and so far we have raised over £280, which we are all so proud of.”
