Q. What course did you study at Stafford College?
A. I initially studied the Level 2 BTEC Travel and Tourism course and then progressed to the Level 3 course.
Q. What did you love most about college life?
A. My lecturers were fantastic. Claire, Gill, Nicki and Fran are all great lecturers who always fully supported me in achieving my dreams. I wouldn't have got where I am now if it wasn't for their help. The guided offering realistic advice whilst studying and even after I left college.
Q. Did you go on to study at university or enter the world of employment after college?
A. I decided to use my qualification and skills learnt on the Travel & Tourism course at college to apply to study Visitor Attraction and Resort Management at Staffordshire University. This was an amazing course to study and I gained lots of hands-on experience and found out what it takes to work at a theme park as a career. As part of my studies, I had the opportunity to work on placement at Alton Towers Resort, which enabled me to really experience the industry for myself. I worked in over ten departments and gained valuable work experience within customer service, which is invaluable in this industry.
I decided to stay on at university to study Events Management which enhanced my knowledge and experience of the industry even further whilst learning all about the events sector. Whilst studying, I created my own online event, using my creative ideas and skills to make my event come to life.
Q. Where has life taken you since university?
A. After leaving university, I wanted another fresh adventure and I decided to apply for cabin crew, which has always been a dream of mine. I now work as a Flight Attendant with Ryanair.
Q. What would your advice be to anyone looking to study Travel and Tourism at Stafford College?
A. Studying and working in the industry is honestly the best thing I have ever done, and the industry is so much fun. Go for it!
