Public Services students arrange Alzheimer's fundraiser

As part of their ‘Outdoor Skills Management’ unit, the group have chosen to organise this event to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society as this disease was one of the most common pre-existing conditions in deaths involving COVID-19 during the pandemic.

Student Sam James, said; “We have decided to dedicate our Outdoor Management unit to help raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society to help people with this disease, which has affected many families for years, but especially during the pandemic. People have been taken out of their normal routine, which has made their symptoms more severe. Our hope is that by walking and running 365 laps, we can reflect on the year that so many people have been stuck inside alone.”

Fellow students have also been invited along to join the team to complete as many laps as they are able to, by heading over to The Wammy. The team have created QR codes displayed around The Wammy for donations, or alternatively donations can be made by following this link.
