Congratulations go out to Josh Taylor who has been successfully applied to join West Midlands Police through a degree-level apprentice pathway. Josh recently completed a BTEC Level 3 in Public Services at NSCG, and after applying on his 18th Birthday, passed all interviews and assessments first time.

Commenting on his studies at NSCG, Josh said; “I completed the 2 year Public Service course at NSCG with the hope of becoming a Police Officer. The course was fantastic and covered lots of areas around policing practice and all the other public services including the armed forces. This course also involves a lot of different sports which I really enjoyed. We had the chance to go kayaking and canoeing which was a fun and great experience.

I received a lot of support from all staff during my time at Stafford college, the lecturers had connections with the Public Services and Sports sectors, which helped as they had first hand experience in what they were teaching. I completed my course in June last year with D* D* D. I applied to West Midlands Police to do the degree apprenticeship programme to become a Police Officer and after 6 months of interviews and assessments I passed! I cannot wait to get started."

Amazing Josh! We are so proud of you.
