Students studying on an Apprenticeship at Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) recently celebrated their achievements at a glittering graduation ceremony held at Stafford County Showground on Wednesday 18 July.
Over 120 apprentices from across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent celebrated the completion of their training with friends, family and employers at the special Graduation Ceremony which was held for it’s fourth year running.
Organised by the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Local Enterprise Partnership, the afternoon ceremony saw apprentices from colleges and training providers take to the stage to receive certificates of achievement in front of proud family members, friends and employers.
NSCG Apprentices from a range of sectors including engineering, education, retail and enterprise, business and management, health and care, and IT were all recognised for their achievements at the awards ceremony.
David Frost CBE, Chairman of the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Local Enterprise Partnership, which is backing the event, commented: “Encouraging local people to develop their skills to the full and creating more and better jobs are both key to ensuring that Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire has a thriving future as a great place to live, work and invest. “Apprenticeships play a vital role in bringing growth and prosperity to our region, and are giving many of our businesses the ability to grow their own talented and skilled workforce. Our graduation ceremony is a marvellous opportunity to celebrate the achievements of local apprentices and helps to raise the profile of apprenticeships as stepping stones to great careers.”
Guest speakers attending the event included Gareth Higgins, Managing Director of local engineering company, KMF and Josie Morris, Managing Director of award winning food delivery solutions company, WoolCool.
Jane Tunnicliff, Head of Employer Engagement & Training at NSCG said: “The graduation provides a fantastic opportunity for apprentices to share their success with their families and employers and is a fitting reward for their hard work. I am very proud that we had such a strong representation at the event, a true testament to our commitment to providing high quality training to enhance the future careers of our apprentices.”
