Students studying the BTEC Extended Diploma in Business at Newcastle College were awarded first place at Edge Hill University’s ‘Edge Ahead Competition’ on Wednesday 5 February.

The students were faced with bringing an autonomous vehicle to market for Jaguar Land Rover, which was the task set by lecturers at Edge Hill University. Competing in teams against students from other colleges, students Ryan Davies, Chloe Allport, Joy Otu and Connor Harland wowed judges with their pitch and presentation, showing business acumen and enthusiasm to the brief, which landed them with a first place win.
Charlotte Thompson, Curriculum Leader in Business at Newcastle College said: "The students all applied themselves incredibly to the tasks set by Edge Hill University lecturing staff, they were extremely impressed with all the students who took part on the day as they applied their knowledge of marketing, finance and economics to solve three challenging business activities".
