Quick thinking students from Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG), Sam Atkinson, Jack Jameson, Jack Hill and Bakeem Hill have been commended for their compassion and kindness which saw them assist an elderly member of the public who had fallen in Newcastle-under-Lyme Town Centre on Friday 7 January.

Whilst walking through the town centre, BTEC Level 3 Sport learners, Sam Atkinson, Jack Jameson and Jack Hill, and Bakeem Hill who studies BTEC Level 3 Business came across an elderly gentleman in the bus station who had fallen and was in obvious need of assistance.

The students stayed with the gentleman, giving him lots of reassurance whilst calling for an ambulance, even purchasing a hot drink for the gentleman to make him as comfortable as possible. A staff member from Revolution quickly assisted the students, bringing a chair across to the bus station.

A passer-by was so impressed by the actions of the NSCG learners, and was compelled to call the college to highlight their kindness and compassion.

In recognition of the help they offered, Sam, Jack, Jack and Bakeem have been presented with a Certificate of Commendation and gift voucher as a token of appreciation for their efforts.
