Congratulations to Jess Reading, Siemens Congleton Engineering Apprentice on winning the MAKE Manufacturing Rising Star Apprentice of the Year in the North West regional awards.

The Make UK Manufacturing Awards 2020 recognises manufacturers and their apprentices who have done exceptional work in the sector, celebrating their hard work, dedication and resilience.

The Rising Star Apprentice of the Year award recognises apprentices who have done the most to seize the training and development opportunities presented to them during the early years of their engineering apprenticeship programme. They will have made significant contribution to support the activities of their employer, and will show great potential for the remainder of their apprenticeship.

Commenting on her award, Jess said; "I feel incredibly proud and honoured to have won this award, not just for myself but I feel it also recognises the excellent training and development I have received on my Higher Apprenticeship through the college. All of the support I've received from my tutors has been brilliant and I have been so lucky to have been given so many fantastic opportunities from Siemens to progress and improve my skills."

Currently studying the Foundation Degree in Electrical and Electronic Technology at Newcastle College, we are so proud of Jess and everything that she is achieving in her career so far.

We wish Jess the best of luck for the National Finals in January 2021.
