Dear Year 11,

We understand that the last 12 months have been highly disruptive for learners, not least those in Year 11 who should be enjoying their last year of high school, preparing for examinations and making plans for the next chapter of their educational or career journey.

So, here at NSCG, we are keen to reassure any young person who is considering studying with us in September that there will be a place for you at our college and that we will be here to help, guide and support every step of your transition from school to college.

PRINCIPALSUPDATE 1

ALREADY APPLIED AND HAD AN INTERVIEW?

If you have already applied to study at NSCG, had your interview and accepted a place, we will stay in touch over the coming months, sharing a monthly email newsletter and updates on the key events that normally take place over the summer months, including NSCG Experience and enrolment.

In the coming weeks you will also be sent information on #MyNSCG, an online portal which contains lots of useful information and resources to help you prepare for joining us in September.

PRINCIPALSUPDATE 2

APPLIED BUT NOT YET HAD AN INTERVIEW?

If you have applied and not yet had your interview, our faculty staff will be in touch soon to conduct a short telephone interview.

This will be an informal chat and an opportunity for us to discuss your preferred area of study and future career ambitions. You will also have the chance to ask us any questions you have about life at NSCG and make sure the course you have chosen is right for you.

If you applied more than 4 weeks ago and want to check up on the status of your application, please contact our Information Point Team at: info.newcastle@nscg.ac.uk / info.stafford@nscg.ac.uk or by calling 01782 254254 / 01782 223800.

PRINCIPALSUPDATE 3

NOT YET APPLIED TO NSCG?

If you have not yet applied but are hoping to study at NSCG in September, please do not panic, it’s not too late to apply.

Due to the recent uncertainty, we have extended our application deadline to 31 May 2021. Please visit our website nscg.ac.uk, where you will find information on all of courses available at Staffordshire’s leading college.

Alternatively, if you feel you need further help or support before making an application, please contact our friendly Schools Liaison Team who will be happy to assist 01782 254274. When you are ready to apply, this short video will guide you through the process.

CAMPUSES

Over the next few months, we strongly encourage you to keep working hard on your GCSE studies. While you may not have formal exams to complete this summer, it is important that you strive to achieve the highest grades possible and continue deepening understanding of your GCSE subjects so that you are prepared and ready to start your course at NSCG in September.

Although you may have already attended one of our Virtual Open Event or Taster sessions and got a flavour of what life at NSCG is like, we cannot wait to be able to welcome you to our campus in person where you’ll be able to meet our team and check out our fantastic facilities.

As lockdown restrictions begin to ease further, we will keep your school posted with information on any key events and activities, including college tours, onsite open events and course welcome days.
