Congratulations go out to our Esports team, NSCG Tigers who have been crowned the winners in the inaugural British Esports National Student Champs Valorant Cup.

In front of a live Twitch stream crowd of several hundred spectators, and out of 103 teams from dozens of Further Education colleges and sixth forms nationally, NSCG Tigers were victorious in bringing home this coveted title.

The British Esports Student Championships is a tournament open to all secondary schools, public schools and Further Education colleges in the UK. The tournament sees students compete in a series of games, including League of Legends, Rocket League, and VALORANT. It is managed by the British Esports Association (BEA).

The team made up of players, Sebastian Grzelka, Piotr Walotka, Pawel Walotka, Finley Jordan and James Heap, stormed through the semi-finals to then face a very close Cup Final against Weston Waveriders. In the gruelling three-hour final, the team played three full matches, and the decider went down to the very last game of the final match. A big shout out to our awesome players, . You smashed it guys, well done!

Commenting on this incredible win, Acting Curriculum Leader Robin Tankard said, "It’s difficult to express just how huge this achievement is and this now makes us the envy of FE colleges around the country showing our players are already at the pinnacle of esporting success. Truly, NSCG is now the go-to place for esports both as a course and as a player. Go Tigers!
