Academic and Creative Studies students and staff from NSCG in April this year launched their 'Art for Ukraine' event, a silent auction, designed to raise vital funds for the UNICEF ‘Aid for Ukraine’ appeal.

Featuring artwork donated in a variety of forms and subject matter by students, staff (both past and present) and guest artists, the charity art was held simultaneously at both NSCG’s Newcastle College and Stafford College sites on the evening of Thursday 7 April.

With the final artwork and bids now collected, their incredible efforts have now been totalled, and the team have raised an astonishing £5,246!

Mike Kelly, Group Head of Creative studies said “ I’m incredibly proud of the efforts of our talented staff team and students at NSCG in reaching this total. They threw themselves into a range of fundraising activities, including the production of original artwork for two closed bid auctions and a fashion sale event.

Both College communities were shaken and disturbed by events in Ukraine, and we all felt we should try to make a contribution to support UNICEF’s humanitarian objectives."

Thank you to the support shown by parents, wider staff teams and friends of NSCG in making the teams efforts worthwhile. All funds raised will help UNICEF to provide much needed food and shelter for families and children made homeless by the ongoing war in Ukraine.
